Lakewood premiered this original musical through the Fertile Ground Festival in January. Now the creators are raising funds to stage their show in the New York Musical Festival.

The Lake Oswego Public Library has selected “Rise of the Rocket Girls: The Women Who Propelled Us, from Missiles to the Moon to Mars” by Nathalia Holt as the 2017 book for its award winning citywide reading program. Lakewood will participate with five events in February
