Wild & Luscious
Be inspired by the luminous paintings of LUSCIOUS heirloom edibles, and WILD foods. Botanical artwork is based on close observation of its plant subjects. It imbues both the artist and the audience with greater visual literacy and empathy for the plants that sustain us and make our world habitable.
a love letter to the plants that feed us ↘All of the fruits, vegetables and grains we eat today have a WILD ancestor that has been open or manually hybridized, to produce the most LUSCIOUS array of foods in human history. However, the genetic diversity of our food supply is rapidly diminishing.
Join us to celebrate the biodiversity in the heirloom crops that have been passed down to us. Learn about their wild ancestors, and many of the foods foraged and cultivated by the First Nations peoples of the Pacific Northwest. Explore the issues and opportunities of our times — including how we can support the future of our food supply.
