NOISES OFF

FEBRUARY 28 - April 6, 2025
By Michael Frayn
Directed by Don Alder

In theatre parlance, “noises off” refers to commotion in the wings. In Frayn’s play, the noises are the backstage yelps and battle cries by third-rate touring actors who are supposed to be presenting a saucy little sex farce called Nothing On. Everything goes wrong except the things that should go wrong. With a plot involving wayward plates of sardines, misplaced clothing and an Arab sheik, Noises Off has been the most requested play to be restaged by Lakewood subscribers.
