2010-11 LOST TREASURES COLLECTION

Lakewood Theatre Company presents on its Side Door Stage for 2010-11 The Lost Treasures Collection – a unique series of plays. Tickets are $18 each or you can purchase the series for $50.

The Lost Treasures Collection is a new series of rarely performed musicals presented in concert/cabaret version on our
Side Door stage. Snacks, wine and beverages are available to purchase. Each show in the series is presented script-in-hand, with minimal staging. No sets, no props (free from the usual trappings of a fully staged production). Picture Portland’s foremost performers
presenting some of the most beautiful, comedic and witty songs of
musical theatre. Our inaugural season features romantic fables:


 

THE BAKER’S WIFE

A small town finds peace and pleasure in the bread of the newly arrived
baker and his attractive young wife. When she is lured away by a
handsome young gigolo, the baker loses all zest for life and baking,
throwing the Provencal community into chaos. Songs include: “Chanson”,
“Proud Lady”, “Where is the Warmth?” and the smash hit “Meadowlark”. The cast features Portland metro artists Darren Hurley, Rebecca Teran, Kurt Raimer, Lauri Jones, Bobby Jackson, Sue Ellen Christensen and Mike Dederian

 

 

CYRANOCyrano at Lakewood Theatre Company

Based on Edmond Rostand’s classic, “Cyrano de Bergerac”
Meet Cyrano, a phenomenal swordsman, born leader and an artistic,
intelligent poet with the ability to enchant the hardest of souls… and
a nose bigger than can be imagined. Cyrano secretly loves Roxanna but
when she tells him of her interest in the handsome yet inarticulate
soldier Christian, Cyrano helps the young man woo her by acting as his
muse and penning eloquent love letters. Songs include “The Nose Song”,
“Roxanna”, “Bergerac” and “You Have Made Me Love”.

Based on the Best-Selling Novel by B.J. Chute
Directed by Ron Daum
This fantasy is set in the magical town of Greenwillow, where the eldest
in each generation of Briggs men have been cursed with a powerful
wanderlust and sends them traveling, leaving the ones they love behind
them. Determined to stop the curse from passing to the next generation,
Gideon Briggs vows never to marry. The citizens of Greenwillow (a cast
of quirky, fablebook characters) must trust their hearts, to help Gideon
listen to a new “call” and find his way back home for good.
