RISING ARTIST WORKSHOP
SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE

Lakewood Theatre Company’s Rising Artist Workshop will present a very special showcase performance Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 3:00 pm featuring 9 students who were selected to work with Sony recording artist, Andrew Paul Woodworth.

This event is the culmination of an 8-week workshopin which this talented core of young singers have been perfecting their vocal skills and performance techniques under Mr. Woodworth’s tutelage.  Students will sing and perform with a live band of professional musicians.  

Children between the ages of 12 and 15 have spent 8 weeks in an intensive work-study with Mr. Woodworth. The course covered: vocal lessons, vocal performance, breathing techniques and artistic vision.

The students will be performing some of their favorite songs, with the band, by artists such as:  Fleetwood Mac, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Gnarls Barkley, Brandi Carlile, Duffy, John Mayer, Carrie Underwood and more…

Andrew Paul Woodworth just moved back to Portland after spending 22 years in Los Angeles. In addition to appearing in several motion pictures and television shows as an actor, Woodworth has traveled the world as a musician, sharing the stage with Maroon Five, Sheryl Crow, Sara Bareilles and Deep Purple. His first album, with the band Elephant Ride, was produced by legendary bassist John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin.

The performance is free of charge but donations are accepted to support the Rising Artist programs at Lakewood Theatre Company.
