CALL TO ARTISTS:
The 2023 Festival of the Arts Youth Exhibit is seeking works from student artists across all mediums for their boldest, loudest expressions.
We’re putting together a special area in the Youth Exhibit for art that represents Pop Art. Pop art defies traditions of fine art by creating imagery from recognizable popular culture. And pop art is more than soup cans and Warhol! What are you in love with? What are you angry with? What are you obsessed with? Show us in the boldest, brightest way possible!
If Pop Art isn’t your thing, that’s ok! We still want to see your work. You can fill out the registration form and get work of any medium to your teacher by the deadline.
ABOUT THE 60TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS
Founded in 1963, The Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts is an annual arts education program of Lakewood Center for the Arts and is traditionally held at Lakewood Center and George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego, Oregon. It is held the weekend after Father’s Day each year and attracts nearly 25,000 people. In 2023, we are excited to celebrate 60 years of art with expanded programming, including several unique art exhibits at Lakewood Center for the Arts and George Rogers Park.
ELIGIBILITY
This call is open to artists of all levels and mediums in grades K-12.
Pop! Goes the Festival: Youth Exhibit will showcase work from students around the region in a highlighted area of the Youth Exhibit at the Lakewood Cafe. If you’d like to submit other work not based on the theme, please speak to your teacher! We will have an incredible space in the Lakewood Cafe for all other work.
The pieces placed in the highlighted space will be at the discretion of the Curator.
Any work deemed offensive or against the Festival’s inclusion policies will not be displayed.
Works Eligible
- Two-dimensional work in any medium is acceptable as long as it is smaller than 6ʼ (height) x 8ʼ (width) and can be displayed on the wall using picture hanging rods.
- Three-dimensional pieces are eligible as long as they are smaller than 6ʼ (height) x 4ʼ (width) x 2ʼ (depth) and the artist can provide the appropriate sculpture stand for their presentation.
- Wall-hung work can be hung framed or unframed and must include horizontal picture hanging hardware installed on the back of the artwork (no zigzag hardware). Please note: curators will not construct any hanging devices. Work must be delivered ready to hang on a wall.
- No AI Generated work will be accepted.
ENTRIES
A maximum of 3 works may be submitted per artist. Entries must be received no later than the date listed on the calendar. The Youth Exhibit reserves the right to decline any accepted artwork upon delivery if the condition or quality is other than represented in the electronic entry.
Each entry must have the student’s name and school stated on the back of the work.
SALES
Students in 7-12th grade have the option to sell their work.
The price shall be at the discretion of the artist.
Price your work accordingly! A 20% commission from all sales will be retained by the Festival. Prices assigned by the artist shall include the Festival commission. All commission proceeds benefit the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, a nonprofit organization. Our tax ID number is 93-0700108.
If you want to sell your work, it is crucial that you register your pieces.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications will be available on January 1st 2023, at lakewood-center.org – click on the FESTIVAL tab.
- Artists must register and complete an application on our website with an accurate email that will be valid throughout the registration process until show date. This email address will be used to notify you of your status. Notification of accepted or declined status will be emailed to the email address you use in the application process. Please check your application email inbox for all correspondence.
Your application must include:
- Detailed information about each submitted artwork, including medium and dimensions.
- All questions answered on the form including school, grade, and teacher.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
Unless alternative arrangements have been confirmed with the curator and Festival Office, Artists must deliver their work to their teacher for collection by:
Please ensure your artwork is to your teacher prior to June 16th. Any work not at Lakewood Center by June 18th will not be placed in the exhibit.
RETURN OF ARTWORK
Should the work not be sold, artists are responsible for picking up their artworks from their teachers after the Festival.

LLAMADO a ARTISTAS:
La Exposición Juvenil del Festival de Artes de Lake Oswego 2023 está en búsqueda de obras de arte hechas por estudiantes a través de todos los medios artísticos, usados para expresarse en forma audaz y de alto volumen.
Tendremos un área en la Exposición de Arte Juvenil dedicada especialmente al arte que represente Pop Art (Arte Pop). El arte Pop desafía las tradiciones de las bellas artes al crear imágenes reconocibles en la cultura popular. ¡Y el arte Pop va mas allá de Warhol y los tarros de sopa! ¿Que es lo que realmente amas? ¿Que te hace enojar? ¿Que es lo que te obsesiona? ¡Demuéstranos de la manera mas audaz y brillante!
Si no te gusta el arte Pop… ¡no es problema! Igual queremos ver tu arte y mostrarlo en la exposición. Puedes completar una solicitud y entregar tu arte en cualquier medio artístico a tu maestro/a antes de la fecha indicada arriba.
EL FESTIVAL DE ARTE ANUAL No 60
Fundado en 1963, el Festival de Arte de Lake Oswego es un evento educacional de Lakewood Center for the Arts, efectuado anualmente durante el fin de semana después del Día del Padre en Lakewood Center y George Rogers Park en Lake Oswego, Oregon. Atrae aproximadamente 25,000 personas. En 2023 estamos orgullosos de celebrar 60 años de arte con más programas, los que incluirán varias exhibiciones únicas en Lakewood Center for the Arts y George Rogers Park.
ELEGIBILIDAD

¡Pop! Las obras en el espacio designado para arte Pop serán elegidas a discreción del Conservador.
No se exhibirá ninguna obra que se considere ofensiva o vaya en contra de la política de inclusión del Festival.
OBRAS ACEPTADAS
- Se aceptan obras bidimensionales en cualquier medio artístico, con dimensiones máximas de 6’ (6 pies) de altura x 8’ (8 pies) de ancho. Deben poder ser colgadas en la pared con barras para colgar cuadros.
- Se aceptan obras tridimensionales con dimensiones máximas de 6’ (6 pies) de altura x 4’ (4 pies) de ancho x 2’ (2 pies) de profundidad. El artista debe traer el pedestal apropiado para su escultura.
- Las obras para colgar, con o sin marco, deben ser entregadas listas para colgar con alambre horizontal instalado en la parte de atrás del arte. No se aceptan colgadores zigzag. NOTA: los conservadores no van a construir sistemas para colgar, todo el arte debe ser entregado listo para colgar en la pared.
- No se acepta arte generado por inteligencia artificial.
INSCRIPCIONES
Cada artista puede inscribir un máximo de 3 obras de arte. Las obras deben ser recibidas a mas tardar en la fecha indicada en el calendario. La Exposición de Arte Juvenil tiene derecho a rechazar cualquier obra de arte previamente aceptada si la condición o calidad es distinta a la representación inscrita electrónicamente.
Todas las obras de arte deben tener el nombre del/la estudiante y el nombre de la escuela escrito claramente al reverso.
VENTAS
Todos los estudiantes en grados 7 – 12 tienen la opción de vender sus obras de arte.
El precio es fijado a discreción del artista.
Fija tus precios de acuerdo con lo siguiente: Una comisión de un 20% de las ventas será retenida por el Festival. Los precios fijados por el artista deben incluir la comisión del Festival. Todos los ingresos provenientes de estas comisiones son a beneficio del Festival de Arte de Lake Oswego, una organización sin fines de lucro. Nuestro número de identidad para impuestos es 93-0700108.
Es mandatorio que inscribas tus obras de arte si las quieres vender.
PROCESO DE SOLICITUD
Los formularios de solicitud estarán disponibles el 1° de Enero, 2023 en lakewood-center.org – clic en la pestaña FESTIVAL.
- Los artistas deben registrarse y completar una solicitud en nuestro sitio web con una dirección válida de correo electrónico, el que debe estar vigente durante el proceso de registro y hasta la fecha de exposición. Esta dirección de correo electrónico será usada para comunicar el estado de la solicitud, como también para notificar su aceptación o rechazo. Por favor revise la correspondencia en su bandeja de entrada.
Su solicitud debe incluir:
- Información detallada sobre cada obra de arte presentada, incluyendo el medio artístico y las dimensiones.
- Todas las preguntas contestadas en el formulario incluyendo escuela, grado, y nombre del maestro/a.
ENTREGA DE LAS OBRAS DE ARTE
Por favor asegúrense de entregar sus obras de arte a sus maestros antes del 16 de Junio. No se exhibirá en la exposición ninguna obra que no se encuentre en Lakewood Center el 18 de Junio.
RETORNO DE LAS OBRAS DE ARTE
Si las piezas no se venden serán entregadas de vuelta a los maestros. Es la responsabilidad de cada artista recogerlas después del Festival.
