CONGRATS TO CARLY COONEY

Cooney.Carly.jpgIn the spirit of the popular America’s Got Talent, the May 20 Lakewood’s Got Talent event featured local talent (ages teen – adult) with celebrity judges encouraging their performances. Congratulations to Carly Cooney whose rendition of “Feed the Birds,” swept the competition and won her the Platinum Award.

Otheraward winners included Talia Dugan, Gold Award for her clarinet solo “Clarinet Sonata Movement 4;” Kimberly Wilson, Silver Award for her rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” and Jamie Kinsey, Bronze Award for her song “Light in the Dark.” Leona Mitchell, a former Broadway pertformer, was awarded the Leona Award for her rendition of “Rock-a-Bye Your Baby.”

Judges.jpgSpecial thanks to our judges who sat, as judge Mark Birge called it, the “dog Pound” as they evaluated all the participants. The judges, as pictured, were (left to right Mark Birge, AKT, LLP (and President of the L.O. Chamber of Commerce); Sara Gundell, Jag Forms; Chuck O’Leary, CEO Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce; Bridget Smith, The Bank of Oswego and Tom Krueger, Ameriprise.

Jane Neff, Development Director at Lakewood Center for the Arts served as the Emcee. She noted. “Lakewood’s Got Talent provided an opportunity to introduce Lakewood Center to new audiences. It’s all about reaching a new demographic and reaching into our community.”
