Lakewood Center for the Arts President Mark Birge and board member Bill Warner were honored at the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Bill, along with his wife Barbara, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Warner’s have contributed more than 40 years of public service to Lake Oswego. "Together they have donated generously all over town to all of the organizations for which they have volunteered. At Lakewood Center," awards presenter Peter Glazer commented, "the chances are you’ve benefited from audio and video equipment they donated."
Mark Birge received the Community Leader of the Year Award for his service with multiple organizations including as a member of the Lake Oswego School District Foundation’s board of directors and as treasurer, as former president and currently sergeant at arms of Lake Oswego Rotary, as a director of the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce; and now as president of the Lakewood Center for the Art’s board of directors.
