The two elements of fire and water are both inspiration and process for artists in sculptural glass, watercolor, acrylic, and encaustic.
The contrasts and similarities of artworks depicting fire and water are nothing short of dramatic in this year’s Special Exhibit, Fire & Water: Contrasts in Expression at the Lakewood Center for the Arts. Besides portraying fire and water, artists’ media use the forces of fire (heat) and water. Viewers are invited to examine unique pairings of two- and three-dimensional work.
The exhibit will feature the works of leading regional and national, artists such as: Jeremy Lepisto (glass), Elise Wagner (encaustic), and Judy Morris (water media). Other artists include Carole DeMar Sandy Dutko , Suzanne Flynn, Wendy Givens, Mafune Gonjo, Angela Grainger, Laurene Howell, Katrina Hude, Sue Jensen, Karl Kaiser, Ursula Kiesow, Jeni Lee, Ann Lindsay, Dyanne Locati, Lin McJunkin, Melody Cleary , Cynthia Morgan, Diana Nadal, Shannon Passon, Sandra Pearce, Linda Rothchild Ollis, Claudia Schouten, Karen Story, Angelita Surmon, Lynne Taylor and Lynne Wintermute.
