Lake Oswego Pipeline Construction Update
For the most up to date information on construction and road closures, click here.
Pipeline construction is expected to begin on Sunday, July 19, 2015 on State Street starting at B Avenue and working south under the railroad tracks. From there, the pipeline will be installed along a portion of Foothills Road, through the Oswego Village Shopping Center, the Old Town neighborhood, George Rogers Park and McVey Avenue.
To minimize traffic and business impacts, most work on State Street will occur at night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. In most areas, one lane of traffic will be open in each direction, with flaggers guiding traffic. All lanes will be open to traffic during the day. For more information about downtown construction, please visit the Lake Oswego Construction Activities page
Please note: to install the pipe under the railroad tracks on State Street, crews will need to work continuously, day and night, for one 48-hour period. This will occur over a weekend to reduce the impact to commuter traffic. Lane closures will be in place with flaggers directing traffic around the site. More information about this phase of construction will be announced soon.
Highway 43 – nighttime paving underway
Final paving of the lane where the pipe has been installed on Highway 43 is now complete! Crews have paved from Mapleton Drive in West Linn to Laurel Street in Lake Oswego. Tonight, crews will begin replacing the traffic loops along Highway 43, and will install permanent striping at the end of July, beginning of August.
Nighttime work hours on Highway 43 are 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. During work hours, one lane will be open at a time, in most areas, with flaggers guiding traffic in each direction. Please drive with caution through the active work zones and obey flagger’s directions.
