Lakewood Theatre Company presents The Lost Treasures Collection — a unique series of three musical plays. Each play runs for one weekend only! Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:00 PM, with a Saturday matinee at 2:00 PM. This year’s theme: From Play to Musical.
Series Sponsor: Fritz Camp   Program Sponsor: Ed & Judy McKenney

The Lost Treasures Collection, now in its 16th season, is a series of obscure, rarely performed musicals presented in concert/cabaret format for one weekend only on our Side Door Stage. No sets, no props — none of the usual trappings of a fully staged production. Picture Portland’s foremost performers presenting some of the most beautiful, comedic, and witty musical-theatre songs. Food, wine, and other beverages are available for purchase before and during the show.

The cast features Joan Freed, Russ Cowan, Jody Allen, Shannon Jones, Shawn Rogers, Lisa Knox, Melissa Standley, Danny Caputo, Mark Pierce, and Robert Altieri.

The Story: When their Upper West Side retirement hotel, the New Sussex Arms, is slated for sale to developers, a group of larcenous old folks begins stealing and reselling furs from various New York City stores to buy the building for themselves. The show’s tuneful score includes “Coffee in A Cardboard Cup,” “Go Visit Your Grandmother,” and “Yes.”

The original playwright, Peter Coke, makes the point in his 1958 play Breath of Spring – and 70, Girls, 70 reiterates it – that seniors can get away with crimes because “Whoever notices old people?” That’s the real message – that young or middle-aged folks alike look the other way when an old person approaches.

General admission tickets are $30 for all seats. Contact the Lakewood Theatre Box Office at (503) 635-3901 or order online. For tickets CLICK HERE

Lakewood Theatre Company’s Side Door Stage is situated in the Community Meeting Room at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego. Light food, snacks, and drinks are available for purchase before and during the show.
