LAKE OSWEGO, OR – Celebrating its 49th year, the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts will be showcasing a Special Exhibit, entitled Photography: Pinhole to iPhone to be held during the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts on June 22, 23, and 24, 2012.

This year’s Special Exhibit will explore the evolution and innovation of Photography from traditional darkroom to digital and beyond. Photography has catapulted to one of the most talked about and used art forms in the 21st Century. Over 150 premier works by invited and juried artists of renown, recognized both locally and internationally, will gather in 2012 to demonstrate the renaissance of Photography. Special Exhibit featured artist Dan Burkholder, fine art photographer/educator; Julia Dolan, Portland Art Museum’s photography curator and Charles A. Hartman, founder and director of Charles A. Hartman Fine Art in Portland, will be among the show’s judges.

The Festival, now in its 49th year, has grown to include an open art show of over 1,000 pieces of art by more than 350 artists, a craft faire featuring more than 110 artists, interactive art demonstrations and a juried exhibit of 2-D and 3-D work. This festival attracts 25,000 people. The celebration of art features interactive art demonstrations, a performing art series with music in the park, special hands-on art exhibits and a children’s art and performance venue.

The Festival is held in the Lakewood Center for the Arts and George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego, a suburb of Portland, Oregon.
