Festival Do's and Don't's

Do: Have a way to collect payment. There are NO atm's near by. There is free wifi provided for the vendors that is different from the public wifi. We will get you that password soon.

Don't: Put stakes in the ground in the park. Your tent must stand using weights. The City of Lake Oswego can and will remove stakes found pounded into the ground.

Do: Sign up for group texts! To help disperse information quickly, we’ve got your cell phone on file and may need to send group texts for load out information, emergency broadcasts, and more. Remind.com might send you an opt-in text. Please accept it.

Don't: Let anyone drive onto the field. If your customer needs to pick up art, please have them head to art pickup, which is on Green Street. They can let security know they're parking temporarily to pick up artwork.

Do: Promote the Festival! Get Art in the Park images to send to your collectors, followers, friends, and family at the bottom of this page. Use the hashtag #artsinlo when posting on Instagram!

Don't: Forget to post your booth number and your artist statement.  Help patrons find you by having your booth number clearly posted, preferably outside your tent. The Festival is an arts education event of Lakewood Center for the Arts. We expect you to display a process statement in your booth that includes your photo and images that illustrate the process and materials you use. As part of our mission to educate the public, we recognize that people will place a higher value on artwork when they understand the vision and labor that goes into creating your art.

Do: Take care of yourself.   The hours are long- please take care of yourself and reach out to Nicky with concerns. In case of extreme weather, we will let everyone know of any changes as soon as possible. Your safety and comfort is a priority!

Don't: Send someone else to run your booth all weekend. Your patrons will be thrilled to meet you face-to-face during the Festival! We ask that the artist whose work is juried is present during the show.

PARKING TIPS

With so many cars and so many people wanting to park close to the activities, parking can be a challenge. The Festival has eased this challenge by providing separate parking areas for vendors and the public.

ARTIST PARKING

During registration and set-up only, artists may park anywhere on Green Street.
During the Festival, artists can park in the lower portion of Green Street (first come, first served) or park off-site at Hallinan Elementary School.

No trailers allowed to park on Green St. during the Festival.

SHUTTLE HOURS:
8:00am — 10:00pm on Friday & Saturday and 8:00am — 6:00pm on Sunday.

During the Festival, artists may not park on Ladd Street.
These areas are reserved for food vendors.
Thank you for giving us your vehicle info in case we need to contact you.

NOTE: Vehicles may NOT enter Green Street from State Street/OR 43. Follow the directions to turn east on Wilbur Street, two blocks north of Green Street, and then right on Furnace Street and right on Green Street.

SETTING UP YOUR BOOTH

QUAD BOOTH LAYOUT

BoothSetUp

Each quad (4 booth grouping) in Rows B, C, D, E, F, and G of the artist booth layout will be 22’ x 22’. This allows artists to have extra storage space (10’ x 2’) behind one wall of their booth.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Set your canopy at the outside corner (indicated by the red arrow) of your booth space (blue square). If your booth is a double, center canopy across the two-booth area leaving a 2-foot storage area behind it.
  2. Decide among your fellow quad-mates which of the four storage areas (noted by the yellow arrows) works best for each of you.

REPRODUCTION POLICY

1. Limited edition reproductions for original 2D work are allowed. A reproduction is any work that is duplicated by machine rather than by the hand of the artist. This includes photocopies, giclées, offset reproductions, and machine-produced images. The Reproduction Policy applies to all original 2D media including drawing, painting, photography, and printmaking. Reproductions must be consistent with the style and quality of the juried work. Show us your real work!

2. Reproductions must be labeled “reproduction” on the front of each piece along with the type of reproduction it is. The word “print” is reserved for hand-pulled prints. Reproductions must be signed and in limited editions of no more than 450. “Altered reproductions” may not be sold as originals.

3. For original 2D work, no more than 30% of the work shown may be reproductions. A maximum of two browse bins is suggested.

4. Any artwork that is not properly labeled or does not meet these requirements will need to be removed from the show.

5. No AI Generated artwork is allowed.

6. Mass produced items that were created by others in a factory are not allowed.
