On Tuesday, June 30, 2009, Lakewood Theatre Company/Lakewood Center for the Arts held its annual meeting and OTAS (Oregon Theatrical Awards Society) presentation at the Lakewood Center to celebrate the closing of its 56th season of plays and its 38th annual OTAS Awards. Emcee for the evening was Bill Warner, Past President of the Lakewood Theatre Company/Lakewood Center for the Arts.

Fred Breuer, board member and supervisor of building renovations and repairs, received the Betty Kingsbury Heritage Award for his outstanding support of Lakewood over the years. David Berentson received a posthumous award for his more than 30 years of service as a volunteer lawyer for Lakewood and official tabulator of the OTAS Awards.

A special Board Award was made to Michael Allen Harrison for his work on the original musical, Prometheus.

Outgoing President Mark Birge also recognized and thanked board members Kathy Bussman, Dan Heine, Malcolm Mathes, Rocky Johnson, Linda Brown, Kay Rhoney and Laura Gentry for spearheading fundraising projects throughout the year. He extended special appreciation to retiring board members Kay Rhoney and Laura Gentry.

Mary Goss, President of the Lakewood Center Associates, introduced incoming Associates President Jeanne Denton who presented a performing arts scholarship check to Jesselyn Parks, a graduating senior from Lake Oswego High School.

In official business, the non-profit organization elected Cyndie Glazer as President and Jerry Koll as Treasurer for a one-year term. Members elected to serve three-year board terms were: John Bradshaw, Dan Heine, Rocky Johnson, Sandy Hageman, Bruce Ramseyer and Don Irving. Jeanne Denton, as President of Lakewood Center Associates for 2009-10, was elected for a one-year board term.
