Born in Oregon City, Bill Plympton is the godfather of indie animation. He’s the first person to hand-draw a full-length animated film and is a two-time Oscar® nominee. With 13 feature films and iconic shorts like Your Face and Guard Dog, his quirky, expressive style has influenced generations of animators.

Anthony Scott – Animator

With over 30 years in stop motion, Anthony Scott began animating for Gumby and worked with Henry Selick on The Nightmare Before Christmas. He’s since contributed to James and the Giant Peach, Corpse Bride, Coraline, and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. He won an Emmy for Showtime’s United States of Tara Anthony continues to mentor and animate globally, recently leading animation for PJ Magerko-Liquorice’s Brim Broome Boulevard.

Michael Bayouth has storyboarded for Spider-Man II, The Orville, and HBO’s Winning Time. A multi-hyphenate creative, he’s also a director, author, and illustrator. His horror screenplay CornStalkers has won awards, and his art direction includes work with Disney and Universal.

Melanie Coombs is an acclaimed producer of award-winning animation, including Harvie Krumpet and Mary and Max. Melanie is a member of the Academy’s Animation Branch and an advocate for storytelling that spans mediums, platforms, and continents.

Michael Cordova, LAIKA VFX Supervisor

Michael Cordova is a Portland native and Evergreen State College alum who has spent over 25 years in Visual Effects, with credits on Star Wars, Iron Man, Avatar, and more. After 12 years at Industrial Light & Magic, he joined LAIKA in 2011 and now serves as Compositing Supervisor. His work includes ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, Missing Link, and LAIKA’s upcoming feature, Wildwood, set in Portland’s Forest Park. Michael also serves on the Visual Effects Society’s Oregon board and is active in Portland’s creative tech scene through the Pints & Pixels meetup.

Hannah Brooks, Aardman Junior Animator 

Hannah Brooks is a UK-based stop motion animator with over eight years of experience in the animation industry, specializing in clay animation. Her work includes contributions to acclaimed feature films such as Early Man, Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon, and Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. Hannah has also brought her talents to the small screen, working on beloved series including Shaun the Sheep, The Epic Adventures of Morph, and Very Small Creatures. Most recently, she animated on Aardman's heartwarming Things We Love commercials for the BBC, showcasing her continued collaboration with one of the industry's leading studios.
