The annual member meeting of the corporation will take place in the evening on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 5:30 – 6:00 PM at the Headlee Mainstage, Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego. Below is information regarding matters to be discussed.
The OTAS Awards – 6:30 PM, Thursday, June 30, 2016 – Lakewood Community Meeting Room
To celebrate the end of our 63rd season and the wonderful work of our actors, musicians, technicians and artistic personnel, this year’s OTAS Awards Party will be held in the Community Meeting Room at Lakewood Center on Thursday evening June 30, 2016 at 6:30 PM. We’ll have hearty hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and music. Casts are invited to reunite and celebrate with us the end of a fabulous season. Whether you’ve been onstage, backstage or in the audience cheering us on, we hope you’ll take this opportunity to join us for a fun evening. We hope you can attend.

Matters to be considered at the annual meeting of the corporation:
1. Selection of Officers for the Board of the corporation
2. Selection of Directors for the Board of the corporation
The following individuals are recommended by the Nominating Committee to serve on the Board of Directors. The expiration of their term is indicated in parenthesis after their name.
1. Selection of Officers:
For officers in the 2016-17 year the Nominating Committee recommends the membership elect current Board member Don Plumb as President of the Board for a one (1) year term for the year 2016-17. It is further recommended that current Board member, Jeanne Denton, be elected as Treasurer for a one (1) year term for the year 2016-17.
OFFICER BIOS:
DON PLUMB – PRESIDENT (officer term expires 2017) a Lake Oswego resident, is a retired M.D., board certified in Ophthalmology. Don served as a U.S. Army flight surgeon, was President and board member of the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology and was a board member of the Oregon Medical Association and President of the Multnomah County Medical Society. Don also served as a board member and partner at EyeHealth Northwest where he was an active participant in business and personnel decisions. He has been a Lakewood board member since 2012 and has served as Treasurer for two years.
JEANNE DENTON – TREASURER (officer term expires 2017) a resident of Lake Oswego, was president of the Lakewood Center Associates for the 2010-11 year. For the Associates, Jeanne has served as Publicity Chair, Consignment Chair and ReRuns Manager. She co-chaired the annual auction fundraiser at Resurrection Catholic Church from 1997-2007. Jeanne has also worked with Jafco coordinating catalog, showroom and retail sales. She is now an owner, with husband Mike, of Denton Resources, Inc. Serving on the Lakewood Board continues a long tradition of family volunteering at Lakewood.
2. Selection of Directors:
For directors the Committee recommends the membership elect the following with terms to expire as marked in parenthesis.
FRED BREUER (2019) is the owner of Bruco Construction Company, a local contracting firm. A northwest native, Fred has lived in Lake Oswego for the past 35 years with his wife Rita and two children. He is an avid supporter of the theatre and has helped Lakewood supervise the maintenance and care of the facility for many years.
LINDA BROWN (2019) is a past member of the Lake Oswego School Board. Her volunteer activities have included OSBA, Lake Oswego Library, the Adult Community Center, the LOABC Board, Blue Heron Neighborhood Board, the Tualatin Valley Community TV Board, Junior Women of Lake Oswego, Lake Oswego Rotary and Three Rivers Land Conservancy.
JAN COULTON (2017) Jan spent her career in educational administration, focusing on public relations and government affairs. She also has experience managing campaigns, primarily for school and community college bond measure elections. She received a BA from Wheaton College in Massachusetts. She has lived in Lake Oswego for close to 30 years and will be the Lakewood Center Associates President for 2016-17.
JOANN FRANKEL (2019) served as President of the Lakewood Center Associates, a support auxiliary of Lakewood, from 2011-13. Joann has worked with the State of Oregon Bureau of Labor & Industries and was a manager of civil rights field offices throughout the state of Oregon. In the private sector she has been a manager of family rental properties and the proprietor of an Indonesian furniture and accessories retail/export company. In volunteer service she has served as President of Surabaya Women’s Association in Indonesia, President of the Jakarta American Women’s Association and board member of the Singapore American Women’s Association.
CYNDIE GLAZER (2019) is the Programs and Volunteer Services Coordinator with the Lake Oswego Library. Cyndie has been an active volunteer with the annual Rotary Auction and Lobster Feed for the past several years, serving as co-chair in 1997. She has been a member of the board since 1994 and served as President in 2009-10. Other civic credits include service with the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation and the board of the Portland Creative Conference.
KEN HICK (2019) a Portland resident, is President and CEO of Northwest Realty Group, Inc. in Portland. His civic activities include past chair of Oregon Ballet Theatre, chair of the Oregon Child Development Coalition Foundation, Vice Chair of Children First for Oregon, board member of Outside In, Advisory Council member for Oregon State University, Advisory Council member of Portland Community College, and President of Wildcat Ridge Sanctuary. He has a doctorate in Business from the University of Washington where he has also taught business classes. Over the course of 40 years he has successfully turned around 15 companies.
STEVE JURNEY (2019) a resident of Lake Oswego, is a computer specialist and an independent consultant in database management for the past 25 years. In addition he has a background in studio art and graphics. He also has three young children who attend Lake Oswego schools and has served on the School Advisory Committee for Lake Oswego Junior High School and the Art Literacy Committee for Lake Grove Elementary School.
JEFF KANTOR (2019) is a financial advisor with Umpqua Investments. For Lakewood he has been for the past year the co-chair of the Fundraising/Finance Committee for the Festival of Arts. Civic activities include Lake Oswego Rotary (auction chair), Lake Oswego Schools Foundation, Our Lady of the Lake Endowment Board and soccer coach.
JOANNE KANTOR (2018) a supporter of Lakewood for the past 20 years works as director of recruiting for Comforcare. She currently represents Lakewood as co-chair of the annual Lobster Feed & Charity Auction. Joanne also vounteers with Special Olympics, ALS Foundation, Meals on Wheels and the Certified Medical Assistant Advisory Group for the state of Oregon.
SKIP O’NEILL (2019) a resident of Lake Oswego, is a general contractor with O’Neill Builders. He has served as a board member and President of the Lake Corporation. Other civic activities include Lake Oswego Rotary and coaching for Lake Oswego Soccer Club and Lake Oswego Lacrosse. Skip currently serves as a City Councilor for the City of Lake Oswego.
AARON NIGEL SMITH (2017) is the artistic director for One World Chorus. Aaron has studied at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Manhattan School of Music and Marygrove College. In 2002 he founded FUNdamentals of Music and Movement, an arts program which is now the program of choice to over 100 early education centers in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Boston. In 2009 Aaron and his wife Diedre, formed the non-profit One World Chorus with the goal of building bridges internationally through choral singing. There are currently over 500 children involved in the music outreach programs in Portland, Los Angeles, New York, Kenya & Jamaica. He is also the founder of Rox in Sox Children’s Music and Book Festival and a member of Lake Oswego Rotary.
BRIDGET SMITH (2017) is the Vice President of Marketing and Administration at The Bank of Oswego. She has a B.A. in Communications and a M.A. in Rhetorical Studies. She has worked with several non profits in Colorado over a 23 year span. Since moving to Lake Oswego she has helped on several Lakewood fundraisers and events and served as co-chair of the Lakewood annual summer party.
The board of directors wishes to express its appreciation to John Bradshaw, Tina Cauthorn, and Gail Pemble who will be retiring from the board this year. Their service is very much appreciated!
