SWS2025

Our third annual juried small works show drew a record number of submissions, showcasing an extraordinary range of mediums from assemblage and collage to oils, acrylics, and more. The results are as varied and expressive as the skies themselves. Each piece explores the emotional landscape of weather: the brilliance of a clear morning, the quiet drama of low-hanging fog, the electric tension of an approaching storm.

The act of creating art is a powerful form of exploration and self-expression. For young artists, it can be both empowering and transformative—sparking creativity, encouraging problem-solving, and helping them discover their own sense of identity and worth. These young artists are not just showcasing their talent—they’re sharing their lived experiences. Their pieces reflect the challenges and triumphs of navigating an ever-changing world, capturing who they are, who they hope to be, and who they are becoming.

Open Show All-Stars is one of the Festival's newest recurring exhibits and it aims to highlight the talents of award-winning artists from past Open Shows. The All-Star showcase features artwork that engages viewers with its originality, vision, and distinct voice. Don't miss the All-Star collection in the main hallway of Lakewood Center.

2025Youth

When you visit the 2025 Youth Exhibit, you’ll step into a space where every wall is filled with art. You’ll find everything from playful shapes, bold details, and vivid hues to minimalist compositions, quiet reflection, and fresh perspectives on established styles and techniques. This is creativity in its purest form: honest, fearless, and full of possibility. And that’s what makes it so powerful.

The Festival was started 62 years ago by the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce. It was moved under the umbrella of the Lakewood Center for the Arts in 1984. This annual event is organized and presented by Lakewood Center and is sustained by valuable partnerships with the City of Lake Oswego, the Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Oswego Rotary Club, the Lake Oswego School District, the Arts Council of Lake Oswego, small and large businesses, the Friends of the Festival, and over 500 volunteers who work year-round to make the Festival the success it is.
