At this year’s North Pole pageant, Dottie is crowned “Best Elf” and in her speech remembers how it all began. Through flash-back, we see how Dottie the witch arrived at the North Pole to take back Christmas – something she had loaned to Santa for a couple thousand years. Now she wants it back, expecting that with it, she might finally get a life full of love and acceptance – just as Santa does. But, the threat of losing Christmas makes the elves reject this scary witch – that is, until Peppermint Bear uncovers what Dottie truly wants most and the elves teach her how easy it is to get it – without taking Christmas away. The story flashes-forward and everyone celebrates Dottie’s win, happy to have her part of the Christmas family at the North Pole.
