Please note, students over the age of 12 must be vaccinated for in-person classes. Students under the age of 12 may attend in-person classes as long as their parent or guardian is fully vaccinated. Depending on the activity, masks are to be worn throughout the class at the discretion of the instructor. If the student exhibits any symptoms, we ask them to stay home and get tested for COVID-19 before returning to class.

Lakewood has installed a new UV-C air purification system to continuously sanitize the theatre and rooms at Lakewood. In addition, all ventilation systems have been upgraded to MERV 13.

While practicing through games, play, art, music, and dance, students will discover their inner creativity. Class will be held in the ballet studio which is designed for easy distance awareness. Students will conclude the Fall session with a performance/demo to be performed on the last day outside for families if weather permits. Students will be having fun improvising, creating, and playing together each class day.
Each day, campers will meet outside on the front deck to check-in. Once everyone arrives the class will go down to the studio together as a group limiting hallway crowding. At the end of the day, this will be the same protocol. Remember to bring a snack and get ready to have a wonderful time.

Ballet With Kasha Watts [At the Lakewood Center]
**Ballet classes are cumulative. New students wishing to perform are required to enroll during Fall and Winter terms. This allows dancers the opportunity to learn and practice ballet technique so that they are confident to perform by Spring term. Classes are pro-rated if you begin after the first week of the session.
**A minimum of 3 students(levels 1-4) and 5 students (PreBallet 1 & 2) per class must be enrolled in order for a class to run.

This is a fun, creative introduction to basic ballet movement. Emphasis is on coordination, rhythm, music, and mime using props, rhymes, stories, and imagination. Your child will be galloping on a pony, leaping over puddles, and learning movements to accompany their favorite preschool songs! Focus is on posture, stretching for flexibility, muscle strength, technique, and musicality in a disciplined yet encouraging environment. Ballet Level lll is an Intermediate class for dedicated students with previous ballet training. In this class, students further develop their ballet technique through stretching, barre work, and center floor work. Continued emphasis on posture, muscle strength, flexibility, technique, musicality, and self-discipline in a supportive and encouraging environment. Students will begin to work on turns, adagio, as well as petite & grand allegro (jumps) work. Dress code is required and hair should be secured back in a bun for class. No jewelry with the exception of stud earrings. Dress attire: please refer to kwattsballet.com

Ballet Level IV is an Advanced Intermediate class for dedicated and committed students. In this class, students further develop their ballet technique through stretching, barre work, and center floor work. Continued emphasis on posture, muscle strength, flexibility, technique, musicality, and self-discipline in a supportive and encouraging environment. Students will continue to work on turns, adagio, petite, and grand allegro work, where batterie ( beaten jumps) will be introduced. Level lV students will also be introduced to Pointe work. Due to the necessary strength involved with pointe work, it is required that level lV students take a minimum of two technique classes per week. Dress code is required and hair should be secured back in a bun for class. No jewelry with the exception of stud earrings. Dress attire: please refer to kwattsballet.com

This is an ongoing, in-depth class for actors who are ready to get back to auditions and projects by advancing their acting skills in memorized scenes and monologues. Approval required and new students will have a short phone conversation with the instructor prior to the first class.
