Join us in 2023 as we celebrate our 60th year showcasing talented and visionary artists of the Pacific Northwest and beyond! The Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts attracts 22-25,000 visitors during the three days of the event- and those visitors come hungry and thirsty!

We’re looking for food vendors offering multi-cultural, original, creative, and above all DELICIOUS concessions for both Festival locations- George Rogers Park and Lakewood Center. We carefully select vendors based on menu, presentation, and compliance with application requirements.

Please read this call thoroughly before applying. The $35 fee is non-refundable.

DATES & DEADLINES:

  • Application open: December 30, 2022

  • Notification Date: March 25, 2023
  • Payments and Permits Due: April 12, 2023
  • Space Assignment & information: June 15, 2023
  • Load in: Thursday, June 22, 2023, 
  • Show Opening: Friday, June 23
  • Show Closing: Sunday, June 25
  • Load out: Begins Sunday, June 25, completed by Monday, June 26 by 9am

FEES:

  • Small booth: $400.00 for 10’x10’
  • Large booth: $800.00 for 10’x20’
  • Small truck or cart (up to 14’ in length): $300.00
  • Large truck or cart (14’ to 20’ in length): $700.00

JUST THE FACTS:

  • Location: George Rogers Park (Map) and Lakewood Center
  • Park Hours: Friday: 8am-9pm | Saturday: 8am-9pm | Sunday: 8am-5pm
  • Service hours:  Friday and Saturday (June 23 & 24), 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Sunday (June 25) 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Vendors who serve breakfast items and/or coffee will be ready to serve at 8 AM and continue until Park closing time each day. Vendors who do not serve breakfast-type items have the option of opening at 10:00 AM.  
  • Booths: Food Vendor Booths are provided by the Festival. There are two booth size options: 10’ x 20’ or 10’ x10’.  The Festival will provide each booth with a canopy, two 6 ft. tables, two chairs, plastic skirts & table coverings.
  • Food Carts and Trucks: are not supplied with any equipment and can occupy a space no larger than 20’ in length (including any trailer hitch, steps, etc.).
  • Restocking: All food vendors must remain open during all festival hours each day. Restocking can be done before and after hours with vendor ID for security. 
  • Electrical: There is limited electricity available. Vendors are only allowed to use the appliances listed on their application.
  • Parking: Off-site parking is provided with frequent shuttle service to and from the park.
  • Pets: Pets are not allowed. Service dogs, please.
  • Commission/sales tax: No commission is taken on sales. There is no sales tax in Oregon.
  • Security: Twenty-four hours from Thursday evening through Sunday evening.
  • Promotion: The Festival is promoted nationally, regionally, and locally to the art-buying public through television, newspapers, radio, direct mail, press releases, magazines, websites, and social media.

ABOUT THE 60TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

Founded in 1963, The Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts is an annual arts education program of Lakewood Center for the Arts and is traditionally held at Lakewood Center and George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego, Oregon. It is held the weekend after Father’s Day each year and attracts nearly 25,000 people. In 2023, we are excited to celebrate 60 years of art with great food, music, and expanded programming, including several unique art exhibits at Lakewood Center for the Arts and George Rogers Park.

NOTES ON THE APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • The first step is applying online. Your application does not guarantee inclusion, but it begins the process of letting our Food Curators know you are interested in having a booth or cart at the Festival.
  • All vendors need to apply for 2023, regardless of prior Festival participation.
  • Apply online by March 15, 2023 to be considered. 
  • All applicants will be notified by email on March 25, 2023.

  • Please indicate if you will need any workspace outside of your booth or cart/truck.
  • A list of possible menu items including all food and beverages to be sold WITH PRICES when applying online. 
  • Please note that all standard 16.9 oz. bottled water is to be priced at $2.00 per bottle.
  • A list of all equipment requiring electricity.
  • Two references

PAYMENTS & PERMITS DUE APRIL 15, 2023:

2023 LAKE OSWEGO FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS VENDOR RULES AND REQUIREMENTS

1. Vendors will comply with all State and Clackamas County health regulations: copies of licenses and General Liability Insurance coverage must be provided. Upon acceptance, a check payable to “The Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts” for booth fee and a finalized menu and pricing sheet must be in the Festival office by April 13, 2020 or applicant will be denied a booth space. In addition, a “Hold Harmless” insurance rider, naming “The Lakewood Center /Festival of the Arts” in the amount of $500,000 is also required. 

2. Service hours are Friday and Saturday (June 23 & 24), 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Sunday (June 25) 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Vendors who serve breakfast items and/or coffee will be ready to serve at 8 AM and continue until Park closing time each day. Vendors who do not serve breakfast-type items have the option of opening at 10:00 AM.  Booths/Carts may not be closed during the Festival hours. Re-stocking may be done before and after Festival hours.

3. There is limited electricity available. Vendors are only allowed to use the appliances listed on their application. All changes/additions must be approved in advance by the Food Vendor Coordinator. All appliances, extension cords, hoses, etc. must be commercial grade and in good working order. City electrician will be on site on Friday to inspect equipment.  

4. Vendors are to be set up as a self-contained “kitchen.” Vendors are responsible for clean work areas at all times and supply their own trash bags. Vendors should be prepared for inclement weather and protection of the kitchen.

5. All vendors are required to accept electronic (NOT MANUAL) credit and debit cards. No exceptions.

6. Vendors may only sell the food items listed on their final approved menu. No changes are allowed unless cleared by the Food Vendor Coordinator.

7. Designated parking for two vehicles per vendor is provided on location. There is off-site parking and a free shuttle provided for vendors, if needed.

8. Security is provided by the Festival from Park closing to Park opening each day, beginning on Thursday evening. Valuables/money should not be left in your booth, as the Festival is not responsible for theft or damage. All equipment/tables should be covered at close of each day. 

9. All vendors must comply with city and state fire laws, regulations and requirements. Vendor must also provide one approved fire extinguisher to be located within the food booth/cart. A fire marshal will make an inspection. 

10. The Festival reserves the right to make compliance decisions concerning quality of food, price of food, signage, and overall appearance of the booth/cart.
