History

All High School Students attending Lakeridge, Lake Oswego, Westside Christian and Tigard High Schools have elected to participate in the 2007 Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts Student Exhibit. Artwork will be shown in the Main Pavilion Tent at the Lakewood Center in Lake Oswego, June 22nd - 24th.

Registration for the exhibit will be Sunday June 17th from 1-4pm at the Lakewood Center for the Arts. Look for the large sign that says "HIGH SCHOOL ART REGISTRATION" No work will be accepted at any other time. The entry fee is $10.00 for three pieces of art. All artists must complete and sign a contract. Contracts will be available through your High School's Student Curator and there is a limited quantity at the Lakewood Center Festival office. Students may also find a contract on this website. You must make 3 photocopies of your signed contract before arriving at the registration. Contracts will also be available during registration, but artists are expected to arrive with a completed contract form. Artists under the age of 18 must have a parent signature on the contract.

Works will be judged in two categories: Two -Dimensional and Three-Dimensional works.

2-D works (drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and mixed media) cannot be larger than 60" framed in any direction. Work on paper must be matted and framed with glass. No clip-style/uni-frames will be allowed. All work must bear its own weight, with heavy gauge wire and be ready to hang. Only works following the mentioned criteria will be accepted.

3-D works (sculpture, ceramic, mosaic or mixed media) must not weigh more than 50 lbs or exceed 60" in any one direction. All 3-D work must stand on it's own and be ready for exhibit.

Work does not have to be for sale.

Works will be judged by Jim Ponti and Don Hoskisson, both Art Educators and Professional Artists. Awards will be given in both categories for First, Second and Third Place. Awards will be gift certificates to Art Media and Georgie's Clay. First Place- $50, Second Place-$35 and Third Place- $25.

Awards will be presented at the Student Awards reception Friday June 22nd at 11:00am in the Pavilion Tent.

Rules of sale and pick up time for the unsold art will be noted on the contract.
